‘This is a remarkable feature of Mimi’s teaching – she is far from soft as a critic yet people seldom go away discouraged.  To seek an explanation is to find one’s way to her most central and special gift as a teacher – she can see clearly what a poem is, but also what it is not, what it might become, the poem not yet written, the optimum poem.’ – David Boll
